Once you have decided you are in the market you want to be sure you get the best price on miter saws. One that will do all that you need it to do. That will produce top results and that is easy to use.

I love writing product reviews so I decided that it is the time to check out the range of compound miter saws. I have used one in the past but not too much. That days I assumed that compound miter saw is just a miter saw and if I need to buy one it will be an easy job. How wrong was I! There is more compound miter saws than meets the eye so it took me some time to really get into the details and find out the best miter saw on the market today.

DeWalt_DW716-1Basics: 3,600 rpm belt-driven 15 Amp motor makes smooth starts and minimal motor jump, also motor makes a much different noise than traditional direct drive saws. 60-tooth 12-inch (305mm) carbide blade included.

Adjustments: DeWalt DW716 miter saw has dual bevel adjustment with stops at 45° left and right. Pulling out sliding shims override the stops and allow for 48°. Swing-out stops set the bevel for left and right 33.9° crown angles. The saw has a snap-down miter locking lever and a nice detent override switch. The miter detent override is particularly useful for those not-quite-45-degree miters by preventing the saw from slipping into the normal detents. Also DW716 has dual sliding fences.

Features: DeWalt DW716 has a good miter lock. It has a vernier scale that allows for 1/4° accuracy. Tall left and right sliding fences are removable to access a rear fence shelf, which you can use to cut extra-wide flat boards. This saw did not come with a laser, but you can upgrade it with some additional features, described below.

Cutting capacity: If material lying flat on the saw table DeWalt DW716 can easily miter a 2×6 and crosscut a 2×8. It can crosscut even a 2×10 in one pass, but you have to remove adjustable fences and place a spacer on the saw table.

Possible upgrades: For additional accuracy, ease of use and time savings this saw is compatible with the DeWalt DW7187 adjustable miter saw laser system or the DWS7085 LED cut line indicator system (sold separately), which ensures that the cutting path is clear to see.
